None Senior Environmental Analyst / Environmental Planner EMPS, Inc.
EMPSi’s has a full-time position in our Reno, NV office for an experienced environmental analyst/environmental planner. This position will perform environmental analyst tasks primarily
related to land use planning, renewable energy development, natural resources issues (including water resources), and environmental impact analysis. The position could also be located in San Francisco,
California or Boulder, Colorado.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has good organizational skills and technical expertise to integrate many aspects of environmental work. This position will be responsible for leading NEPA
analyses; producing high-quality technical reports; mentoring junior staff; effectively coordinating
with clients, regulatory agencies, staff, and the public; and assisting with marketing efforts.
Qualified candidates will possess at least a Bachelor's degree in a physical science with at least 10
years of proven consulting experience in conducting NEPA-level impact analysis. Additionally, the
successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Previous NEPA document authorship; - Project management experience for complex NEPA analyses; - Land use plan, RMP, and/or BLM experience; - Specific resource expertise (e.g., biology, hydrology, geology); - Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations including, but not limited to, NEPA, CWA, CAA, ESA, and NHPA;
- Ability to assess environmental quality and potential impacts; - Detail-oriented and strong logistical capabilities; - Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills; - Exceptional technical writing skills and a record of completing technical reports in a timely fashion; - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team; - Experience in writing concise regulatory analyses; - Experience with natural resources permitting for renewable energy projects; and - Ability to function in a loosely structured environment without strict supervision.
